SCBS has a small collection of theological books numbering about seven hundred volumes. Last year, a mission team from Randburg Baptist constructed a rudimentary library for us ex nihilo, and kindly undertook the labour-intensive work of cleaning the books and shelving most of them.

This week, we heard of another collection of theological reference books for sale that we’d love to purchase. So far, around R6000 has been raised for them – praise God! It’s clear, however, that we need a clean and dry place to order and shelve these books properly. Please pray with us for a solution.

Galodi Oct 2008

Galodi Oct 2008

No less than four men attending – about 15 in all. The growth in this school is so encouraging that plans are afoot to start another in Flagstaff next year. Help! Pray that the Lord would raise up the teachers we need so desperately. We will honour most of these students at graduation day 8 November.

Eric & Dave

Eric & Dave

Our final Bible school week at Silver Oaks went very well indeed. Geoff Hartley, CFC board member and CESA pastor, taught 1 Timothy while I tackled the live issue of church Stewardship. Teaching on Islam were two brothers from up north: David Foster (SIM, Durban) and a Kenyan lawyer, Eric Simiyu.

Please do pray for Dave and Eric in their respective ministries. In meeting them, I was struck by this observation: ‘the tougher the service, the meeker the servant’. There is great strength in meekness.
