Theological Education by Extension

Our new venture into local, ‘on site’ Bible training is an exciting experiment. Since Jan 2008, twelve students meet each month near Umzimkulu, a rural township in southern KwaZulu-Natal. The trip is rugged but worth it.

Course material is extracted from our SCBS curriculum, so learners are able to continue their studies at the Bible School without compatibility issues. Since literacy is typically not high, care is taken to teach at an appropriate level. Like SCBS, all lectures are translated into the vernacular – either isiXhosa or isiZulu.

We look forward to welcoming these learners to our annual graduation ceremony at Silver Oaks in November this year, where they will receive recognition for their efforts.
